Mariana Carvalho (São Paulo/Berlin) is a performer, musician and artist working with sound, voices, interactions between bodies, (internal) listening, relation, transduction, materials, mail art and prepared piano. Collaboration is a big part of her work, most lately happening in the fields of performative arts and dance.



Empathonic is a live music event series held at Novilla Schöneweide, dedicated to nurturing a vibrant pop and experimental music scene specific to the Schöneweide area of Berlin. Its mission is to foster empathy, diversity, and inclusivity through the unifying power of music. The series is a collaborative initiative by soydivision collective and movingpoets e.V., and it also forms part of soydivision’s radio residency program, “ASSOY Radio,” at Novilla since 2024. The inaugural edition in 2024 featured four event series, showcasing 17 Berlin-based artists and highlighting co-curation collaborations with Nico Daleman (The Rest is Music on Cashmere Radio), Till Schmidt-Rimpler (Movingpoets), and Korhan Erel. The second edition is set to launch in spring 2025. Both editions have been supported by Musicboard Berlin.
